about the meetup
I founded the Millennial Money Meetup in September 2016 as a way to take the money conversation offline and get people networking, bonding and talking about money matters that are important to them in a fun, informal way.
The first meetup was really just a test to see if I could get millennials from all over Toronto together to a personal finance meetup…and it worked! The event was sold out in only a matter of weeks, and now I host meetups a few times per year in Toronto and Vancouver.
My hope is to eventually take my events across Canada, so if you’re a sponsor and would like me to host an event in your city, contact me.
about the founder
I’m Jessica Moorhouse, the founder of the Millennial Money Meetup. What started as a hobby blog about personal finance, evolved into a full-time career as a personal finance expert, speaker, media personality, Accredited Financial Counsellor Canada®, and host of the Mo’ Money Podcast.
Learning how to take control of my money changed my life, and ever since I cracked open my first personal finance book in my early 20s, I’ve been on a mission to teach others how they can take control of their lives by taking control of their money too.
And that’s exactly why I founded the Millennial Money Meetup. I wanted to spread the word, and get people out and talking about money. You see, the more we all talk about money, the better we’ll all be at managing our money! I hope to continue to host more and more of my meetups throughout Canada so eventually money will stop being a “taboo” topic of conversation.
